"We have one man on the board, so we are done," "All the good men have already gone." Nope, I've never heard this either so let's hope that the Hampton-Alexander Review makes the equivalent excuses for the lack of women on boards a thing of the past.
Among the excuses was “they don’t fit in”, “they don’t want the hassle” and “all the good ones have already gone”. Others suggested that women did not want the “hassle or pressure” of sitting on a top board, that “all the ‘good’ women have already been snapped up” and that “we have one woman already on the board, so we are done.”
