Once the UK leaves the EU, there will be a vacuum in UK data protection law – unless the Government does something to fill it. One of the main purposes of the Bill, therefore, is to ensure that the rights, obligations, powers and other requirements set out in the GDPR will continue to be part of UK law post Brexit.
