It is so inspiring to see the the priorities of the business community shift towards gender equality, diversity and inclusion. And there are definitely a few surprises for me on this list.

It just goes to show that society is changing for the better, a great message to brighten a Monday afternoon.
It is clear that both PwC and HSBC are focusing on gender equality as an urgent business priority. Louise Webster, founder of the Beyond the School Run website, is not surprised. "A lot of male-dominated organisations, such as banks and law firms, are contacting me because they are exploring different ways to work," she says. "They are seeing what I'm seeing, which is that a lack of diversity is stifling women in big corporates, and often when they go on maternity leave they won't go back. There is a talent drain." All agree that society is changing, with younger men and women keen to work more flexibly, whether to spend time with their families or to pursue other interests outside work. The challenge for leaders, is to ensure that their businesses reflect that shift.
